Saeed Ghadimi

I am an associate professor in the Department of Management Science & Engineering  with cross-appointment at the Cheriton School of Computer Science of the University of Waterloo.  I am also a Vector Institute Faculty Affiliate and a member of Centre for Computational Mathematics,  Waterloo.AI, and WISA at UWaterloo. Before joining UWaterloo, I was an associate research scholar at Princeton University. I received my PhD from University of Florida and also received my BSc from Sharif University of Technology. 

My research is mainly focused on decision making under uncertainty motivated by data science applications. In particular, I work on a) reinforcement learning and stochastic optimization, b) developing reduced- and higher-order algorithms for machine learning and large scale optimization problems,  and c) simulation-based optimization.
